Concertino in B-flat Major - Bass Clarinet and Piano

Price: $18.00

Description

Bernhard Crusell (1775-1838) was the most significant Finnish composer of the Classical era, and enjoyed a successful career as a clarinetist. This Concertino, originally for bassoon and orchestra, is quite effective in this new transcription for bass clarinet and piano.

The single-movement work offers the bass clarinetist a wide range of technical and expressive challenges typical of the era, such as passages demanding fluidity in scales and arpeggios. The work would make an excellent addition to a recital program, or serve equally well for audition or contest purposes. The original key is maintained in this transcription, placing the bass clarinet part comfortably in C major.
