Amy Schumaker Bliss

Amy Schumaker Bliss is Professor of Euphonium at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey and Senior Adjunct Professor of Music at Burlington County College in Burlington, New Jersey. She also teaches euphonium through Rowan University’s Rowan Prep program. Amy earned her Master’s of Music degree (Honors with Distinction) in euphonium performance from The Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in euphonium performance and music education from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in euphonium performance from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Her main music education teacher was James Swearingen and her main euphonium teachers include Jim Olson, Dr. Thomas Zugger, Dave Thornton, Steven Mead, and Dr. Steve Allen.

Amy plays solo euphonium in The Atlantic Brass Band (North American Brass Band Champions 2011, 2012) and collaborates with area musicians for brass quintet, orchestral, wind band, solo, and low brass performances.
