Stravinsky's Cat's Lullabies dates from the middle of his Russian phase, shortly after the Rite of Spring and shortly before the Three Pieces for Clarinet. The text is sung in Russian or French by a mezzo-soprano/alto/contralto, with accompaniment from e-flat, b-flat, and bass clarinet (or optionally piano). These four vocal miniatures are based on folk tunes, and each text centers on the life of cats. This edition includes one vocal/piano score, and parts for each of the clarinets.
