Description

Ignaz J. Pleyel was a prolific composer of the classical period. Born in Austria but living in France, he wrote at least 42 symphonies, 70 string quartets, and multiple operas. This work, from a set of trios, exists in multiple forms, including for keyboard, for violin and cello, and later for flute, clarinet, and bassoon. The music of Pleyel is easily transcribable for many instruments, and based on the number of transcriptions of this work, it was evidently very popular in Pleyel's day.

This Musica Rara edition includes one full score and parts for each member of the trio.
