Description

In the composer's own words: "Two sets of dances were written for my cousin Davia, who as a child always wanted to be a dancer. This first set (1958) is a compilation of little airs and tunes that I had imagined would form a small ballet for young dancers. The second set, completed twenty years, later, is a collection of melodies and pieces that accumulated through the ensuing years. Davia is now a very beautiful and successful dancer, who travels the world carrying with her the same charming ingenuousness that she had as a child. I dedicate these dances to Davia, who remains for me always an inspiration". Yvar Mikhashoff, 1980.
