Johann Gottlieb Graun (1703 - 1771) was educated at the Kreuzkirche in Dresden and studied violin with Pisendel and Tartini. He was aquainted with J.S. Bach and gave violin lessons to Bach's son, Wilhelm Friedemann. Together with C. Ph. E. Bach he worked at the court of Frederic II of Prussia as a concertmaster and later as a Kapellmeister.
Graun composed many concertos, trios, and quartets for oboe and oboe d'amore. This trio as well as at least one other piece is written for an unusual combination of instruments: oboe d'amore, french horn, and bassoon. This edition has been supplied with an alternative part for oboe (in place of oboe d'amore). The articulartion marks of the manuscript have been left unchanged; a few suggestions have been indicated by dotted slurs.
Includes one score and parts for oboe, oboe d'amore, horn in E, and bassoon.
