Description
Composed in 1949 by Henri Tomasi, "Lament of the Young Indian" is a piece for Clarinet and Piano accompaniment that voices the lament of a young Indian, expressing nostalgia. The tempo is Andante and the harmonic motion is quite slow. Two cadenzas feature in this work, with the possibility to cut them out to make rehearsals easier. The piece finishes sadly on the main theme which is played on last time. Written for intermediate players, it can be used as a contest piece or for a recital.
