Description
Monologue was written for Clarinetist Sarah Jaegers and was inspired by her love of rap and hip-hop music. The piece takes inspiration from rhythms and harmony used in music by Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Eminem, Flo Rida, and Snoop Dog. Written for the advanced Clarinetist, Monologue is filled with ostinatos, syncopations, runs, accidentals, and mixed meters that provide the player with a solid challenge and a chance to show off their dexterity.
