Song of Thanksgiving and Dedication - Soprano Voice and Piano

Composer Joanna Gill was honoured to be commissioned by HRH King Charles III and Queen Camilla for the National Service of Thanksgiving and Dedication held at St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh on 5th July following the coronation ceremony held at Westminster Abbey on the 6 May 2023.

Originally for soprano and string orchestra this edition for soprano and piano uses the Scottish Doric dialect. This is the popular name of Mid Northern Scots or Northeast Scotland and refers to the Scots language spoken there. The text for this work was written by Grahame Davies, and the Scottish Doric translation was made by Gordon M Hay.
