Description

An especially effective and fun transcription from the music of major Baroque-era composer Antonio Vivaldi, transposed into the key of concert A-flat to accommodate the saxophones more effectively; two sopranos carry the solo violin parts while the rest of the ensemble plays the counterparts and accompaniment; Arranged by William E. Fredrickson (S-S-A-A-T-T-B-Bs) approx. duration 3:00

Few if any articulation markings have been added to this transcribed music by the arranger. The objective has been to provide an uncluttered edition which allows maximum opportunity for the performing musician(s) to incorporate articulations pursuant to their own backrounds and investigations into Baroque interpretation. Certainly tonguing every note which does not have a notated slur in this edition will result in a very unsatisfactory performance.

Instrumentation:

  • Soprano sax (1/2)
  • Solo alto sax
  • Alto sax (1/2)
  • Tenor sax (1/2)
  • Baritone sax
  • Bass sax

Includes score and parts
