Carnival of the Animals (Part 1) - Sax Quartet (SATB/AATB)

I have transcribed this fascinating suite for Saxophone Quartet. It was originally scored for two pianos, string quintet, flute, piccolo, clarinet, harmonica (a form of French Glockenspiel) and xylophone. The full suite is divided into three volumes. Volume I contains 1) The Royal March of the Lion (originally score for 2 pianos and string quintet) has gracefully adapted to the Saxophones. 2) Chickens and Roosters (originally for string trio, 2 pianos and clarinet). 3) Hemiones is omitted here. It was originally for two pianos and defied adaptation. 4) Tortoises (originally solo paino and string quintet) is delightful in the Saxophones. 5) The Elephant (piano and contrabss) becomes here an engaging solo for Bari Sax.

Volume II (Available Jan. 2003) contains 6) Kangaroos, 7) Aquarium, 8) People With Long Ears, 9) The Cuckoo In The Bottom Of The Wood, and 10) Aviary. Volume III (Available Feb. 2003) contains 12) Fossiles, 13) The Swan and 14) Finale.
