Description
The High Spirits Red Tail Hawk in the key of "G" minor has a soothing, melodic voice. Being a very versatile key, it plays well with other instruments and works well with many different styles of music expression - native, romantic, blues, and jazz styles. This is a good flute for beginners; first-time players are often attracted to the key of "G" minor because it is playable but also has a deeper tone than the "A" minor flutes.
These flutes are handcrafted from domestic, Aromatic Cedar, a softwood that gives it a warm, resonant, and full musical voice. They are hand-finished with a non-toxic oil that seals the wood and enhances the wood's tonal qualities.
The Red Tail Hawk "G" flute is a great flute to accompany other key of "G" flutes such as the Contra Bass "G" flute or the Pocket Flute in the key of "G".
The flute is tuned in the key of "G" minor and can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale in the key of "Bb". This is a six-hole flute but a leather hole cover is provided on the third hole from the top, to give the option of playing it as a six-hole flute or a five-hole flute. This flute is 21.25 inches (about 54 cm) long.
