This beautiful addition to the saxophone quartet repertoire is taken from Johann Christian Bach's set of Six Quartettos for a German flute, violin, tenor, and violincello. J.C. Bach was the youngest of Johann Sebastian's sons and is noted for influencing the concerto style of Mozart.
