The piece was commissioned by Jean-Michel GOURY and was premiered at the 9th World Saxophone Congress in Tokyo (1988).

The composer proposes a synthesis between the present contemporaru music and the more popular music (hard rock, Soul muisc) which is oftne imporovised. Thse muisc have many aspects in common in spite of the barriers which apparently separate these two essential means of expresssion.

The piece is very precisely written but it must give the impression that it is a long improvisation. Both performer and aurdience must go into a trance at the end of the performance.
