Description
Petite Piece Concertante (Little Concert Piece) for Solo Cornet and Concert Band Grade 3. This is a standard piece in solo trumpet repertoire that is used on countless festivals and competitions. The beautiful opening weaves its way through several key centers leading to the March where fast fingers and light articulations come into play. A great piece to show the capabilities of the cornet (or trumpet). The original was scored for cornet and piano and this arrangement for band allows for a wider range of timbres in the accompaniment. Instrumentation: solo cornet, flute, oboe, clarinet 1-3, bass clarinet, bassoon, alto sax 1-2, tenor sax, baritone sax, trumpet 1-3, horn 1-2, trombone 1-3, baritone BC, baritone TC, tuba, bells, timpani, snare drum, triangle.
