Andante e Rondo Ungarese, Op. 35 Weber wrote the Andante e Rondo ungarese per l'Alto Viola Solo with Gran Orchestra for his brother, Fritz, in Ludwigsburg. At the end of his manuscript there is the remark: "Completed October 18, 1809". Later he "completely remelted" the piece for bassoon, as he writes it. The meritorious Weber researcher Friedrich Wilhelm Jahns discovered the score of the Viola Concerto with the Berlin Kapellmeister Semler, who had inherited it from his father the famous violist Franz Xaver Semler. This first publication is based on Weber's own signature preserved in the Prussian State Library in Berlin.
