Description

Metal Sound Bars - a SONOR Specialty

The major role of metallophones within an instrument arrangement is to provide mellow sound qualities and volume. Especially the mix of soft contours (metallophones) and rhythmic, pulsating passages (xylophones) enhance the musical experience for both children and adults.

Sound quality, color, sustain and sound volume have to be perfectly balanced to achieve an optimum of tonal presence across several octaves.

This is SONOR's unique know how.

The production method for special alloy metal bars is a carefully protected process.

The range consists of 25 different metallophones.

Primary metallophones support music reading.

The bars with the print of the note enable a visual connection between the sheet music and the instrument.

When improvising with self-created melodies the children always have a visual reference to the printed notation.

From the other perspective the players get a feeling of what a printed note sounds like.

All Primary metallophones have special alloy metal bars, 35 mm wide, with overtone tuning or fundamental tuning, and resonator boxes made of birch plywood.
