Metal Sound Bars - a SONOR Specialty

The major role of metallophones within an instrument arrangement is to provide mellow sound qualities and volume. Especially the mix of soft contours (metallophones) and rhythmic, pulsating passages (xylophones) enhance the musical experience for both children and adults.

Sound quality, color, sustain and sound volume have to be perfectly balanced to achieve an optimum of tonal presence across several octaves.

The production method for special alloy metal bars is a carefully protected process.

The range consists of 25 different metallophones.

SKM, TAKM and GBKM metallophones have special alloy metal sound bars with overtone tuning or fundamental tuning.

All resonator boxes are equipped with brackets for carrying legs or the BasisTrolley system.

This SKM20 Metallphone add-on is the compliment to the SMK10 Diatonic Soprano Metallophone and includes the resonator box along with 7 chromatic bards. (Mallets not included with add-ons.)
