The arranger's intent was to broaden the availability of Haydn's London Trios for performance by producing a basic set of parts, with other parts available as direct purchase PDF downloads from Last Resort Music. The original instrumentation was for two flutes and cello. The basic set holds the following parts: Part 1 for flute, oboe, or violin; Part 2 for viola; Part 2 for clarinet in B-flat; Part 3 for cello or bassoon. These are available by direct download purchase only, not through us. The layout of movements and editorial procedure with the slow movement of Trio I is consistent with the group of publishers following the Baerenreiter edition of 1931, namely Baerenreiter, International, and Southern. Numerous performance markings are added, in keeping with the purpose of serving a flexible ensemble.
