Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral for Concert Band Grade 4 Excerpts below are used by permission of GIA Publications, Inc., and are from "Teaching Music Through Performance In Band - Volume 4" Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral appears towards the beginning of Act II of Lohengrin, as she and her bridal party enter the cathedral for her marriage. Cailliet's transcription was published in 1938 and is approximately six minutes in duration. Instrumentation is for standard concert band; percussion requirements include timpani, bass drum, snare drum, crash cymbals and suspended cymbal. There are extensive cues and doubling among instrumental parts, allowing a band of limited instrumentation access to the work.
