Mozart's Clarinet Concerto, his last completed instrumental work, dates from October of 1791. This edition presents the music in the key of A and for clarinet in A. Published 2003; two suggested first movement elaborations and one suggested slow movement cadenza (from Clarinet Quintet). Preface but no editorial remarks and no basset clarinet part; practical performing edition for standard clarinet by Karl Leister. As a document of a fine soloist's preferences, this publication is analogous to the Harold Wright edition (Southern SU320CO). The piano part could be somewhat confusing to an accompanist. Even though the solo part is shown in smaller type, the solo staff is equidistant from the piano staves instead of being slightly separated, giving a three-handed appearance to the music. Very few cue notes, but printed in a smaller size than soloist notes. Piano reduction anonymous, edited by Karl Leister.
- 1. Allegro
- 2. Adagio
- 3. Rondo: Allegro
