Lyrical Etudes, Vol. 2 - Trumpet

It's been over 25 years since I sat down (on a bet from a friend) to brew up a collection of melodies for solo trumpet. Originally for my own amusement and to include in my personal trumpet routine, I was encouraged by many people to put them out for everyone to see. Vince DiMartino (everyone's favorite famous trumpet player) and Dennis Avey (former President of Robert King Music Inc.) were the driving forces behind the initial run of my book in 1990. Since then, these etudes have been selected as audition material for many all-state festivals, included in college entrance requirements and even became required repertoire for major trumpet auditions such as the New York Philharmonic and San Francisco Symphony. To say I'm grateful to these two friends, as well as every one of you who bought my book and spread the word, is an understatement. It's been successful beyond most books of its kind, and still continues to be one of Robert King's biggest sellers.
