Modern Multi-tenor Techniques and Solos - Tenor Drum Method

"Modern Multi-Tenor Techniques and Solos" is designed to provide students and teachers with a systematic approach to the development of skills associated with becoming proficient on multi-tenors. The main focus of the first half of this book is to provide a wide variety of excercises aimed at developing technique and increasing dexterity and flow around the drums. These exercises cover fundamentals of stroke, development of motion and flow, introduciton of scrape, crossover and sweep patterns, and rudiment applications designed to challenge the intermediate to advanced tenor players. The second half of the book is comprised of sixteen contemporary solos written progressively to entice the beginner and challenge the advanced player. These solos are intended to be used as a vehicle to develop skill and techniques, while providing students with opportunities to accomplish and perform solo literature on tenors. Several of these selections feature the inspirational writing styles of some of today's leading authories in marching percussion.
