Progressive Solos for 3-4 Mallets

The selections in this book encompass and represent the musical styles of master composers from the 16th century to the present. The offer the mallet player an opportunity to develop and imporove skills and techniques such as the legato roll, independent voice movements, bringing out the important voice, phrasing, dynamic contrast, and pedaling (on vibes). The pieces are suitable for contest, recital, jury, and pedagogy. All the solos are playable on a 4-octave marimba, while some may be performed on vibes or xylophone.
