Having experienced the difficulty of finding original works for bass clarinet, whether for recitals, auditions or competitions, Vincent Penot (Paris Opera) decided to compile a collection of a variety of works, of varying styles and levels of difficulty, originally written for other instruments (often bassoon or cello) but that are well adapted to bass clarinet performance. This volume includes only the solo part, transposed in B-flat and written in treble clef. These parts may be played with the corresponding piano accompaniments, available separately in various editions. This collection will appeal to musicians looking for a rich offering of 19th and 20th century chamber music for bass clarinet.
