Instrumentation: Vibes, Mark Tree, Marimba, (4) Timpani, Drum Set, Triangle, Mounted Tambourine, Crasher, Congas, Shaker, Timbales, Misc. Toys This is a jazz combo/quintet piece written for percussion ensemble. The timpanist should function as a bass player, and lock into a tight groove with the drummer and perc player. The vibes carry the lead line while the marimba functions basically as a comping instrument. The drum set and percussion players are featured soloists in the piece. Let them open up their solo sections and build them into a frenzy for a maximum crown pleasing effect.
