Danzon No. 2 Both the Danzon No. 2 and Conga del Fuego Nuevo were popularized in their original orchestra versions through performances and recordings by Gustavo Dudamel conducting the Simon Bolívar Symphony Orchestra. The Danzon has attained the status of a true orchestral hit. The transcriptions for band - based on two very different Cuban dance forms - could easily bookend a concert.
