Russell Peck (1945-2009) earned three music degrees from the University of Michigan and also attended the Berkshire Music Center at Tanglewood. He composed many types of instrumental music and was especially known for his orchestral works with narration. He was a faculty member of Northern Illinois University, the Eastman School of Music, and the North Carolina School of the Arts.
