Rhythm Reading for Drums, Books 1 and 2 - Snare Drum Method

This publication combines book 1 and 2 of this innovative, popular method. It provides a highly organized, systematic approach to reading and understanding rhythm for the beginning-intermediate percussionist. Basic rhythm patterns including counting system and foot-taping indications are introduced on each page in 8-measure studies followed by a short solo serving as a page summary and motivational tool for students. Volume 2 continues; adding flams, drags, roll studies, syncopation, and 8th & 16th note triplets. Both books conclude with a “graduation solo” suitable for concert performance. Book 2 also includes a graduation duet and “technique builders” to develop strength, flexibility and control. Great as a band-method supplement or stand-alone method.
