Album No. 1 includes 20 pieces by Piazzolla with chord changes in addition to the piano part. Astor Piazzolla was born on the 1th March 1921 in Mar Del Plata (Argentina). He started his musical studies in New York, where e stayed for 13 years. In 1946 he set up his own band, with which he toured the two American continents. He won several performance and composition prizes and had two hits with Preparense and Pigmalion.
In 1953, he won the Montevideo Prize with Contrabajeando.
In 1954 the French Government awarded him a grant so that he could study in Paris with Nadia Boulanger. After completing this study period, Astor Piazzolla composed a series of works which became classics for dancing, such as Chau Paris and Tzigane Tango.
ADIOS NONINO, which he wrote in New York as a tribute to his father when he died is still his most outstanding composition, and his most recorded work on a worldwide basis, with recordings lasting from 3 to 30 minutes.
