Description
The first two preludes are descriptive and were written in homage to the Debussy Preludes - the titles at the end in the manuscripts. Swing Set is a virtuosic prelude that uses a twelve tone row in a playful way. Gin Fizz was written as a show piece for Elaine Kwon, a rollicking blues-inspired piece that is lighthearted and fun. In C, too was writen for Sarah Cahill to perform on the occasion of Terry Riley's birthday. Music, Pink and Blue was written for Lara Downes and is inspired by the Georgia O'Keefe painting of the same name.
