Description
The Antara is a pre-Colombian instrument from high in the Andes Mountains. Its name is derived from Quechua, the ancient language of the Incas. It is the equivalent to the Panpipe. The Antara is made by joining graduated lengths of reed, bamboo pipe, or cane, ranging in size from 3 to 32 registers. Today the Antara is normally included in the typical Andean Group & is noted for its mystical haunting sound.
