The classic method for beginning individual instruction, the Rubank Elementary Method for Saxophone may be used by any saxophone (alto, tenor, etc.) It is suitable for both young or older beginners, and its systematic technical progression makes it a good self-teaching method for adult musicians learning a second instrument. It includes a separate full-range fingering chart.

The Rubank Elelentary Method for Saxophone covers:

  • All notes in the standard keyed range (Bb-F*) beginning with BAGC
  • 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, alla breve, and 6/8 time signatures
  • Note values up to sixteenth notes, including eighth-note triplets
